Bermuda Maintenance Calendar

October 1-

Apply preemerge Specticle or 0-0-7 Stonewall 37% at 4lbs/1000sq. ft. a 50lb bag will cover 12,000sq. ft. it needs to be watered in after the application with at least 0.5in water within 2 weeks  Perform soil test to form a plan for the following year
 
 

Mid December to early January-

Apply preemerge 0-0-7 Stonewall 37% at 4lbs./1000sq. ft. same as October application water in as well
 
 
 

Late February to early March-

Apply preemerge 0-0-7 Dimension 21% at 4lbs/1000sq. ft. the 50lb bag will cover 12,000sq. ft. (early crabgrass prevention) Rate depends if you are aerating your bermuda at the end of June (length of control) water in 0.5in water within 1 week after application 
 
 

March through April-

Perform a soil test to get a baseline for the year if didn't do it in the Fall 
 
 

Early May-

Scalp the bermuda and apply fertilizer, controlled release, 32-0-8 at 1lb nitrogen/1000sq. ft. (3.125lbs fert/1000sq. ft.)  50lb bag will cover 16,000sq. ft. 
 
 
 

June 1, July 1, Aug. 1, Sept. 1, October 1 if warm enough-

Apply quick release fertilizer 28-0-3 at 1lb nitrogen/1000sq. ft. (3.57lbs. fertilizer/1000sq. ft.) 50lb bag will cover 14,000sq. ft. 
 
 

Last week in June-

Aerate your yard and apply carbon pro soil amendment each month and a half (end of June and beginning of August (10lbs/1000sq. ft.) 40lb bag will cover 4,000sq. ft.  After aerating apply moisture manager granular to assist your grass in being more efficient with water through the summer (3lbs/1000sq. ft.) 40lb bag will cover 13,000sq. ft. 
 
 
 
 
Postemergent herbicide to spot spray weeds in the summer use Celsius herbicide, insecticide use is Crosscheck as needed in fall for armyworm (Aug-September) and Summer for adults flying around as needed 
 
Grub control use Dylox in September, October if needed, or spring application March April, May, better to use in Fall as the grubs are smaller use only if you have damage 
 
Mow your grass at a max height of 2 inches, lower is better (1-1.5 inches) Herbicide use will change throughout the year for weed control depending on the type of weed
